About the Faculty
In today’s era of globalization and free trade, industries and commerce face increasingly complex challenges, requiring higher competitiveness and greater efficiency in the workplace. Human resources, as a key capital factor, have become an urgent and essential priority at both the national and international levels. Therefore, effective and efficient management, supported by advanced technology and high-quality facilities and infrastructure, is essential and should be given significant attention.
Vision
To become a Faculty of Medicine that meets national and international standards in its systems, programs, activities, and human resources by 2030.
Mission
To provide education and teaching that meet national standards while broadening students’ knowledge and understanding of employment-related matters.
To conduct research that meets national standards while expanding knowledge and perspectives related to employment.
To implement community service programs that meet national standards while strengthening knowledge and awareness of employment-related issues.
To strengthen collaboration with various stakeholders to support the continuous development of the faculty at both national and international levels.
Medicine
S.KedOriginally established under the Griya Husada Foundation as Universitas Abulyatama, the institution was founded pursuant to the Decree of the Director General of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 2129/D/T/2008. Subsequently, the University was officially renamed Universitas Batam under the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 242/D/O/2001, dated 16 November 2001, following the approval and recommendation of the Regional Coordinator of Private Higher Education (Kopertis) Region X for West Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi. The Bachelor of Medicine Study Program and the Professional Medical Doctor Program commenced on 1 September 2010 and received their operational license under Decree No. 3674/D/T/K-X/2010. The Study Program has subsequently been awarded the Excellent Accreditation by the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) under Decree No. 03244/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/VII/2022.
Medical Profession
dr.Clinical education is an essential component of medical education because it is during this phase that students are introduced to real clinical settings involving patient care. According to Mc Allister (1997), clinical education encompasses the application of theoretical knowledge to the development of clinical knowledge and skills while integrating professional attitudes into the ethical delivery of patient care.
