Description

Originally established under the Griya Husada Foundation as Universitas Abulyatama, the institution was founded pursuant to the Decree of the Director General of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 2129/D/T/2008. Subsequently, the University was officially renamed Universitas Batam under the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 242/D/O/2001, dated 16 November 2001, following the approval and recommendation of the Regional Coordinator of Private Higher Education (Kopertis) Region X for West Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi.

The Bachelor of Medicine Study Program and the Professional Medical Doctor Program commenced on 1 September 2010 and received their operational license under Decree No. 3674/D/T/K-X/2010. The Study Program has subsequently been awarded the Excellent Accreditation by the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) under Decree No. 03244/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/VII/2022.

Vision

To produce professional doctors of noble character with excellence in the field of occupational medicine by 2030.

Mission

  1. To deliver medical education through an Outcome-Based Curriculum using a Student-Centred Learning approach in accordance with the National Standards for Medical Education, with excellence in the field of Occupational Medicine.

  2. To conduct research in the fields of health and Occupational Medicine.

  3. To carry out Community Service in the fields of health and Occupational Medicine.

  4. To establish cooperation with various stakeholders to support the sustainable development of the Study Program.

Objective

  1. To produce graduates of the Bachelor of Medicine Study Program and the Medical Doctor who demonstrate professional competence, noble character, and recognized excellence in Occupational Medicine.

  2. To prepare graduates who are capable of undertaking basic, applied, and developmental research that contributes to the advancement of medical science and Occupational Medicine.

  3. To prepare graduates who are able to apply their knowledge and expertise through Community Service activities in the fields of medicine and Occupational Medicine.

  4. To foster mutually beneficial partnerships that strengthen the quality and sustainability of education, research, and Community Service.
