UNIVERSITAS BATAM HOLDS GRADUATION CEREMONY AND YOUNG DOCTORS' OATH-TAKING

Batam, May 6, 2026 – Universitas Batam held its Graduation Ceremony (Yudisium) and Young Doctors' Oath-Taking on Wednesday (5/6/2026) at the Rumengan Hall, Universitas Batam. The event marked an important milestone for students who have completed their academic phase and are preparing to enter their clinical clerkship (professional/koas) phase.

The event was attended by members of Universitas Batam's leadership, including Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Chablullah Wibisono, M.M.; Vice Rector III, Dr. Mohammad Gita Indrawan, S.T., M.M.; Secretary of Griya Husada Foundation, Faris Ramadhan, S.Ak., M.Ak.; Secretary of LPPM, Raymond, S.E., M.Sc.; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, dr. Fachrul Jamal, Sp.An., KIC; Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, dr. Sukma Sahreny, M.Gizi; Head of the Medical Education Unit (MEU), dr. Kasih Purwati; Secretary of the Medical Education Unit (MEU), Dr. Isramilda, S.Si., M.Si; Head of the Bachelor of Medicine Study Program, dr. In his remarks, dr. Fachrul Jamal, Sp.An., KIC emphasized that the journey to becoming a doctor is a long process consisting of three crucial stages. He explained that a Bachelor of Medicine degree forms the foundation of knowledge, which must then be followed by the professional stage to hone clinical skills.

He also delivered a special message regarding responsibility in the field. The young doctors were reminded to care for facilities at both the teaching hospital and its affiliated network with full responsibility. A deep understanding of the dynamics of each department and the health issues within the hospital is key before they officially begin their clinical clerkship.

Echoing this sentiment, Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Chablullah Wibisono, M.M., provided guidance on the ethical and humanitarian dimensions of the medical profession. He affirmed that medicine is a noble profession that demands the highest integrity.

Amid the increasing complexity of diseases, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Chablullah Wibisono, M.M. also encouraged the graduates to become lifelong learners. Doctors must never stop developing their knowledge in order to remain relevant in providing the best possible care to patients.

This ceremony marks the beginning of the graduates' journey of service as professional, high-integrity, and competitive doctors, ready to make a real contribution to improving public health.
