TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR PROPOSED ACADEMIC POSITIONS FOR LECTURERS, ENCOURAGING CAREER IMPROVEMENT AND REAL CONTRIBUTION

Batam University held a Technical Assistance program for Lecturer Academic Position Proposals (Functional Positions) on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Rumengan Hall. The event was attended by campus leaders, lecturers from various study programs, and representatives from institutions within Batam University.

Also present were the Head of LLDIKTI Region XVII, Dr. H. Nopriadi, SKM., M.Kes., and a resource person representing LLDIKTI, Nurhayati, S.Kom.

The event was officially opened by Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Chablullah Wibisono, MM. In his remarks, he stated that this mentoring program is expected to minimize the various obstacles faced by lecturers in the academic promotion process. Furthermore, this activity is also a strategic step to provide a more focused understanding of the mechanisms and requirements for proposing lecturer functional positions.

He further emphasized that increasing lecturers' academic positions not only impacts individual career development but also plays a crucial role in encouraging their real contributions to society. By improving academic quality, lecturers are expected to have a broader impact in education, research, and community service.

The event featured technical presentations, interactive discussions, and direct consultation sessions between participants and speakers. Through this activity, Batam University demonstrated its commitment to supporting the improvement of human resource quality and strengthening the role of lecturers as agents of change in society.
