Batam, May 5, 2026 – Batam University held a Doctoral Oath ceremony for the 15th graduating class of the Medical Study Program on Tuesday (May 5, 2026), at the Rumengan Hall at Batam University. This event was a sacred moment that marked the beginning of the graduates' dedication as professional medical personnel ready to contribute to public health services.

The event was attended by Batam University leaders, including Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Chablullah Wibisono, M.M.; Vice Rector III, Dr. Mohammad Gita Indrawan, S.T., M.M.; Secretary of the Griya Husada Foundation, Mr. Faris Ramadhan, S.Ak., M.Ak.; Secretary of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), Mr. Raymond, S.E., M.Sc.; Head of LPM, Ms. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurhatisyah, S.T., S.ST., M.Kom; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Fachrul Jamal, Sp.An., KIC; Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. H. M., Soerya Respationo, S.H., M.H., M.M.; Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. drg. Zaki Mubarak, MS; Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Sukma Sahreny, M.Gizi; Head of the Medical Education Unit (MEU), Dr. Kasih Purwati; Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ms. Christiani Prasetiasari, SH., MH; Head of the Medical Profession Study Program, Dr. Elvita Nora Susana, Sp.THT-BKL, FICS; Head of the Master's Program in Accounting, Dr. R.A. Widyanti Diah Lestari, S.E., S.H., S.Pd., M.M.; and lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine.

In his remarks, Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Chablullah Wibisono, M.M., stated that the doctor's oath is not merely a ceremony, but a crucial moment that carries moral and professional responsibility. Graduates are expected to possess a strong sense of empathy and be able to integrate a scientific approach with humanitarian values ​​in medical practice.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Fachrul Jamal, Sp.An., KIC, emphasized that a doctor is not only required to possess scientific competence, but also integrity, wisdom, and social sensitivity. In carrying out their profession, doctors must adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), uphold professional ethics, and continuously develop themselves in line with advances in science and technology. He also emphasized that patients are a vital part of a doctor's learning and dedication process. Therefore, every medical procedure must be based on good intentions, professionalism, and humanitarian values.

In their remarks, representatives of the graduates expressed their gratitude to their parents, lecturers, and all those who have supported their education. They acknowledged that the journey they have undertaken has not been easy, but it has shaped strong characters with integrity and empathy. This momentum also marks the beginning of a significant responsibility to serve the community.

Through this ceremony, the graduates officially assume the profession of doctor and are ready to carry out the mandate of providing healthcare services to the community. Batam University hopes that these graduates will become superior, professional, and competitive medical personnel, capable of making a real contribution to development in the health sector.
